I ski a lot, and my fingers get cold while I’m on the mountain– which I think is normally the case for most people. My first time trying heated ski gloves
For the last three ski seasons, I’ve been using the Hestra Heli Ski Mitts and was really happy with them. But it wasn’t until I tried the Savior Heated Leather Ski Gloves (Model SKGP03FW) that I realized just what I was missing. I actually chose the mitts from Hestra because they tend to be warmer than traditional gloves with separated fingers, but found that they were somewhat lacking in dexterity. Setting up your Savior Heat Gloves
Inside the box were my gloves, a travel pouch, two compact rechargeable batteries, a wall charging cable, and the instruction booklet. Right away, I plugged the charging cable into the wall and attached the batteries because I was eager to get them set up. And since they arrived charged, they were fully topped up and ready to go within a few minutes.
Setting up my Savior Heat gloves was simple. Each glove has a zippered pocket at the wrist to plug in and contain the battery pack. Once the batteries are plugged in, you can simply press the “On” button on each glove, which will show how much charge they have. Continuing to press the “On” button will then toggle between low, medium, and high heat settings, and the gloves will immediately heat to the desired temperature.
You can also download Savior Heat’s app to connect and control your gloves via Bluetooth. Connecting them to their app was easy and intuitive, and it allowed me to discover some of my glove’s most impressive features.
How to use Savior Heat Ski Gloves
In addition to being able to see a more detailed look at each battery’s charge level, one of my favorite features available in Savior Heat’s app is the ability to set an adjustable timer for the gloves to stay heated. I had mentioned earlier in this article that my fingers tend to be the coldest during the moments where I’m inactive, and not necessarily while I’m skiing– so after finishing a run and before getting back on the chairlift, I would set the timer for fifteen minutes (the length of the ride back up the mountain) so that the gloves would automatically turn off and I could avoid any unnecessary heat while skiing.
Because this was my first time ever trying heated ski gloves, I was still playing around with the settings to find my personal preferences. I also found that just keeping the gloves on the low setting consistently throughout my ski session was comfortable, and that I didn’t need to make any particular adjustments if I didn’t want to. And, it confirmed that I didn’t need to use the app to be able to control the heat settings on my gloves and use them.

Choosing a size for your Savior Heat Gloves
I wear a women’s size 9 in my Hestra Mitts, and opted for a size Large for my Savior Heat Gloves. They fit my hands well– but because I always prefer to wear washable glove liners every time I ski, I probably could have been a touch more comfortable in an Extra Large. Do Savior Heat Gloves work well for skiing?
I was very impressed while testing the Savior Heat SKGP03FW Gloves while skiing, and certainly recommend them! They worked well and were reliable, and I particularly love how uncomplicated they are. The batteries are also long lasting. I usually ski anywhere from two to four hours on a normal ski day, and my Savior Heat gloves had plenty of battery life to sustain well-beyond my needs.
Depending on when and where you are skiing, you may be spending time riding uncovered chair lifts through a snow storm, or you may be spending a considerable amount of time waiting in the cold for a high-capacity gondola to arrive and whisk you to the top of a glacier. During my recent trip to Tignes and Val d’Isère, I did all of the above, and my Savior Heat ski gloves truly were a saving grace that kept my hands warm.

To be completely honest, before I owned a pair of heated ski gloves, I imagined they were a complicated luxury that was not totally necessary on top of all the other gear that I have to keep track of every time I pack for a ski trip.
