Pet Friendly Paris: 4-Star Boutique Hotels That Allow Dogs
/Paris has to be one of the most dog-friendly cities in the world. I just recently celebrated two years since my sweet pomeranian Gigi came into my life– and though we’ve traveled together extensively throughout Europe and the US, nothing beats enjoying the warm hospitality found in our hometown of Paris.
I’ve always said to fully enjoy your visit to Paris like a true Parisian, you must have your dog by your side. I’ve found that small dogs are happily welcomed almost everywhere in Paris except for museums, grocery stores, and some parks– and I’ve noticed that all interactions seem to start with a smile when you have a pup with you. While there are dozens of hotels in Paris that accept small dogs, I’ve rounded up a list of my favorite 4-star properties in the city that offer exceptional stays and make both you and your pet feel at home.
My Favorite Dog-Friendly 4-Star Boutique Hotels in Paris, France
Hôtel Particulier Montmartre
18ème arrondissement
With only 5 rooms and suites, Hôtel Particulier is one of the most unique and legendary accommodations in Paris. Tucked away in a quiet hillside of Montmartre, the hotel also operates a chic bar lounge, a restaurant serving inventive French classics, and a welcoming courtyard patio when the weather is nice. The interior of the Hôtel Particulier is very design-forward, preserving elements of its heritage while providing guests with modern comforts.
Historically, a hôtel particulier is defined as a private urban mansion or townhouse, designed to be lived in by a single family. Guests and visitors of the Hôtel Particulier Montmartre are certainly treated like family, and by allowing pets, the hotel continues to honor its history as a welcoming institution.

9Confidentiel
4ème arrondissement
Located in the lively heart of le Marais, 9Confidentiel will likely be a convenient home base in Paris if you plan to visit the city’s coolest shopping and dining destinations during your stay. The Marais is also home to several parks and a handful of pet boutiques, so there is plenty to keep you and your pup occupied throughout your trip.
The hotel has 29 rooms and suites, and an elevated, boutique feel. With interiors by Philippe Starck, the sleek design of 9Confidentiel mirrors the vibrancy of its surroundings and offers a chic atmosphere to gear up for and wind down after eventful days exploring Paris with your pet.

Important to note:
I write at length about traveling internationally, visiting hotels, and flying with my 3kg dog in airline cabins. Each hotel mentioned in this article may have different size or weight allowances (that may also be different than typical airline pet-in-cabin allowances), so be sure to consult the terms and conditions I have linked for each property for the most up-to-date information. Additional daily pet fees may apply, and vary by property.
Hôtel Rochechouart
9ème arrondissement
The sight of Hôtel Rochechouart always makes me a little nostalgic because it’s one of the first hotels I stayed in during my earliest visits to Paris. The vibe here is effortlessly cool, though every space within the hotel is thoughtfully designed and intentionally curated. The bars and restaurants at the property are mainstays in the neighborhood, and the rooftop terrace offering views of Paris’ most iconic landmarks is not to be missed.
The hotel boasts 106 rooms and suites, with each immersing its guests into an atmosphere honoring the Belle Époque. Rather than make guests feel at home, a stay at Hôtel Rochechouart transports you to another world that you will want to revisit again and again. And having your dog alongside you for the adventure will only make it that much more enjoyable.

Recently opened in the Latin Quarter, Hôtel Dame des Arts breathes fresh energy in a neighborhood of Paris that’s especially steeped in history and heritage. Surrounded by galleries, showrooms, and art studios, Hôtel Dame des Arts is equally inspiring and welcoming for visitors of Paris who understandably insist on staying in this area. With 109 rooms and suites, an imaginative restaurant, and a chic rooftop terrace, Hôtel Dame des Arts is a top choice for travelers and their precious pets.

Hôtel Maison Mère
9ème arrondissement
Located in one of my favorite neighborhoods of Paris, a stay at Hôtel Maison Mère is a great option if you really want to feel like a local. While there is plenty to do in terms of shopping, walking, dining, and snacking in this part of the 9th arrondissement, it’s tucked away from the typically-touristy areas of Paris and most frequented by the locals who live there.
With 51 rooms and suites, Hôtel Maison Mère provides guests with a comfortable and welcoming stay in a hip and lively setting– the restaurant and bar often feature live music or play host to various events. Staying at Hôtel Maison Mère is sure to give you a great sense of living in the neighborhood, and what better way to feel most at home than having your beloved pet by your side.

Hotel Sookie & Coffee Shop (Hotel Suzie Blue)
3ème arrondissement
Whenever I have a friend text me that they’re in Paris, it’s very likely their next text is “Let’s meet in the Marais? I’m staying at Hotel Sookie”. The location is unbeatable if you want convenience to all-things-cool during your visit to the city. This corner of the upper Marais is young and lively, and lined with vintage shops, concept stores, no-fuss eateries, and hot spots for drinks. All my friends who have stayed here have raved about the breakfast, and the lobby of the hotel also doubles as a coffee shop that attracts regulars and travelers alike.
With 31 cozy rooms, Hotel Sookie offers guests charm, value, and a comfortable place to rest after exploring Paris with their pet.

Hôtel Madison
6ème arrondissement
Located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Hôtel Madison is central to some of the city’ best shopping, dining, and cafes. The classic Haussmannian architecture and traditionally designed interior spaces are quintessentially Parisian, proving Hôtel Madison to be an ideal and elegant choice for anyone wishing to stay on la rive gauche.
The hotel has 54 rooms, suites, and apartments, offering guests and their pets options when it comes to choosing their home away from home in Paris.
